A little background for myself:  I am a US citizen, descended from about 1/3 of the people who came here on the Mayflower way back when.  I spent 13 years in the US Marine Corps, work to pay the bills and growing my own business.  My political leanings are to the right but not anywhere as extreme as the real vocal ones I've met.  I am a firm believer in our Constitution and Bill of Rights and regard those as the supreme law of the land.  I would say that about 60% of my friends could care less about the information in said documents and could not even tell you what was really in them.  This does not bother me most of the time.  However, when I post an opinion and am descended upon by even one left leaning person and cannot seem to defend my stance I start to worry about my abilities.  I'm not here to win arguments.  I am here to learn how to stop running in circles and feel comfortable in my own skin.  I know what my opinions are, I know when they are grounded in fact, I don't always have the facts at hand.  I find this even extends into my day job as a software developer and my business venture.  So, I will create a new space here to let each of us post past debates and then use the comments to start running through the branches of conversation that were travelled or not travelled and *why the direction was supportive or detracting.
