One in five stars has Earth-sized planet in habitable zone. Astronomers hanging out at the Keck Observatory in Hawaii did a statistical estimate. They point out that just because a planet is Earth-sized and has an orbit in the habitable zone, that doesn't mean it's necessarily habitable, because it might not have a surface with water or it might not have the right atmosphere, and other factors, and astronomers don't know the statistics for any of those other factors.![]()
