"Every child in America should be acquainted with his own country. He should read books that furnish him with ideas that will be useful to him in life and practice. As soon as he opens his lips, he should rehearse the history of his own country." --Noah Webster, On the Education of Youth in America, 1788Unfortunately, this doctrine went out the window during the mid-late 1900s. Line 100 college grads up and ask them what this country's economic system is and I'll bet you only 1 may know. Ask them what our government is based on and what is our model and I'll bet only 1 may know. Totally sad and leads us to this false belief that we are entitled to this, that and everything else. Well boys and girls, we are not entitled. We are guaranteed Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We were never guaranteed a hand out. In fact our forebears were vehemently against it - for a reason. That history goes clear back to Jamestown.
