THE FOUNDATION
"They define a republic to be a government of laws, and not of men." --John Adams
GOVERNMENT AND POLITICS
The Republican Endgame
by Mark Alexander
Despite all the Leftist rhetoric about ObamaCare being "the law which must now be funded," it was wholly rejected by Republicans in the Senate and House, along with many House Democrats. Thus, proposals to defund it, delay it or amend it are exactly in line with what our Founders expected legislators to do in the interest of defending and sustaining Rule of Law.

"[A] wise and frugal government ... shall restrain men from injuring one another, shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government, and this is necessary to close the circle of our felicities."

Most people here know I am pro-Constitution and support and defend our Constitution and Bill of Rights. And then I see the news about another person going on a rampage with a gun like what happened in the Navy Yard last week or the week before. After that, I see a ton of posts about how we need stricter gun laws, make guns illegal and basically trample on our 2nd Amendment rights.
So here we are, concentrating on the 0.01% who commit these acts and wanting to punish the 99.99% because of it. Really? I mean really? There is no such thing as a perfect system. And in our efforts to make it a perfect system we have ended up with so much bureaucracy we can't even do what has been passed into law. So, is the problem the 2nd Amendment or is it we have no way to find those 10 or 12 individuals each year?

View from space: Greeley, Colorado before and after the flood
http://earthsky.org/earth/view-from-space-greeley-colorado-before-and-after-the-flood
Original Post from Keith Barrows:
Right before the flooding here in Colorado my wife discovered our master bath shower was leaking. She started with a simple tear down to isolate the leak only to find that one of the walls was starting to rot away. As we dug into more and more layers we also found mold growing in the walls and under the shower basin. Needless to say, we are now remodeling our bathroom! I am trying to find the "before" pictures for the full effect.
Over the last 2 weeks we have bought most, maybe all, of the tile (Habitat for Humanity's ReStore Rocks!) we need to finish the interior of the shower, have bought 2 rain heads, new plumbing and all the lumber to build the enclosure as well as the new "tunnel" to the closet. We still have to buy the Schluter drain and Schluter Kerdi membrane as well as the wallboard.
A lot of work still to do but we are getting really excited about how it is turning out now. And we get a shower twice the size of the original!
I received this "chain letter" this morning from a dear friend. While I know she did not write this, I believe it is something very important to get out to all US citizens. While it does mention a Constitutional Convention, this is more about Amending our Bill of Rights with a clause to "even the playing field" when making laws in Congress and the House. Whether you are political or not please take a few minutes to read this and then write your Congressman. Remember, they work for us, not the other way around.
-----------------------------------------------------
Hello!
Governors of 35 states have filed suit against the Federal Government for imposing unlawful burdens upon them. It only takes 38 (of the 50) States to convene a Constitutional Convention.
This will take less than thirty seconds to read. If you agree, please pass it on.
This is an idea that we should address.
For too long we have been too complacent about the workings of Congress. The latest is to exempt themselves from the Healthcare Reform that passed ... in all of its forms. Somehow, that doesn't seem logical. We do not have an elite that is above the law. I truly don't care if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent or whatever . The self-serving must stop.
If each person that receives this will forward it on to 15 people, in three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message. This is one proposal that really should be passed around.
Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution: "Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States ..."
You are one of my 15.

This is only about 45 minutes ago. Yes, it is raining again in the Longmont area! A normal 15 minute drive took over an hour.
Not my image. Found this floating on FB. It looks like the rain storm after it has passed the foothills and started moving out into the plains. And yes, this is the rain from just a few days ago here in Northern Colorado.

Look at the other videos in the series. Longmont east shows just 8 miles west of us.Original Post from Keith Barrows:
This is about 12 miles west and 5 miles north of where we live.
This is what it looks like around our development here in Frederick, CO. While our house is a few feet above the flood line, one of the two entrances is underwater. We have flood waters on half of the south side, all of the east side and most of the north side.
We were able to get to the grocery store 5 miles from our house but we had to drive 20+ miles to get there with roads closing right after we went through. Took us 45 minutes to find an open route back to our house. Since then, all roads to I-25 and Hwy-85 are now closed. We will be staying home for the duration - with another 2-4 inches in the forecast for tonight and more tomorrow.

I am looking for some advice and/or opinions. I have a GMail account as well as a Google Apps account. For the longest time, everything I did was through my GMail account. Now that Google has opened up more avenues for their G Apps accounts, I am wondering if it is time to wean away from the GMail account. Has anybody else done this? Is it a good idea? A bad idea? Why?
TIA!

NOTE: I included 2 pictures of an Autumn Blaze Maple that is shedding it's bark. Is this normal? Our other Autumn Blaze is not doing this.
